I had a PBM, one-step alloderm with immediate recon w/saline implants on May 7, 2007. I have had a multitude of problems afterwards and I am on my way to finally finishing the recon work. I lost my left implant to a severe staph infection so I am very lopsided to say the least.

I do not have much feeling on either side and it is weird where I do have feeling. It was always the start to most of our intimate times. My husband is so understanding about it. I guess what I need to find out is whether anyone else is going through these mixed up issues. I talked to my PS about it and at length with his PA who has been very helpful. I know I am not alone in this but let me know how you have handled it if you can. Thanks!

Hi Beth,

From what I understand if your niples were left in tact, you may get some feeling but nothing's guaranteed. A few years ago I had a breast reduction and my nipples needed to be moved. I did regain feeling in them...they were actually hypersensitive. Of course now with the mast, no nipple on the left yet (having the exchange December 18th). The PS did a lift on the right breast at the time of the mast and that nipple has even more feeling than it did before (I guess it's making up for not having a nipple on the left!). That was also an intimate part of my husband and my relationship. We've just been working on discovering other areas that give both of us the extra boost in that arena (trying out the different things is fun!). Take care.

Margaret
